ABOUT
WBI Micro-Credit Services began business operations in October, 2015. Previously, the business was operated as Who Can Battle With The Lord Money Lending Company Limited (2012 – 2015). This however was dissolved subsequent to an agreement by the Board of Directors in September, 2015 which gave birth to WBI Money Lending Ventures.
In April, 2017, the name was changed to WBI Micro-Credit Services as per the legal requirement from BoG and MCAG for change from Money Lending to Micro-Credit.
The brain behind this innovation is Mr. Binlinla Godwin who is the President and Chief Executive Officer. The whole idea was born whilst he was at the Senior High School where he lent money to colleagues and they intend pay back in equal monthly instalments.
This continued in small scale after school until in April, 2012 that he made a bold step of reaching out to the general public and hence registered with the Registrar General and operated as Who Can Battle With The Lord Money Lending Company Limited, now WBI Micro-Credit Services.
Mr. Binlinla Godwin the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of WBI Micro-Credit Services was born on 11th July, 1981 to Mr. Binlinla Yaw Bernard the late and Mrs. Binlinla Abena Elizabeth at Kpassa, Nkwanta North District of the Volta Region of Ghana.
He had his Basic and Junior High School Education at Tease Presby Primary and Junior High School where he completed in 1998. Subsequently, he proceeded to Datus Senior High School – Tema (1998-2001) where he passed with distinction that gave him entry into Koforidua Polytechnic (2003-2006) and graduated with Higher National Diploma(HND) in Statistics (Second Class Division).
Mr. Binlinla currently holds an MBA from the Metropolitan School of Business and Management(MSBM), UK (2019). He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Statistics and Economics (First Class Division) from the Methodist University College, Ghana (2008-2011). He formally headed the Biostatistics Unit of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (2009-2016).
